For the enlightened bunch of consumers that have been smart enough satellite tv acquire a satellite TV subscription, it's always fun and rewarding to keep your set up loaded to the max, so that you can get the most out of your connection. Though subscribers differ in their obsession with decking out their home entertainment system, there are a few favorite features which seem to be ubiquitous in all satellite TV-owning households. Undoubtedly, these features aren't necessary, and many will be perfectly content with their service without them; however, once one acquires the taste, it's difficult to go back to a plain ol' simple set up. So, be forewarned, if you give these options a shot, you may never go back!
1) HD DVR. The most satisfying extra to be given to TV viewers since the dawn of television itself. With generally good memory capacity, HD DVRs today are great gadgets, as you can pause and rewind live TV at any moment. Additionally, the recording capacities themselves way surpass the now-ancient VCR, with which you could only record one input at a time, and rarely at predetermined times. But today, you'll be recording multiple simultaneous inputs, and programming several recordings throughout the week, and they will all happen just as you need, even if you don't have the tube on! Convenience has never been so abundant. And say goodbye to commercials, which is really the dream of all TV watchers.
2) HD TV. You wouldn't want to be sporting your HD DVR and your 100+ high def channels that come with the service all for naught! If you've got these great things at your disposal, make sure to benefit from them. satellite tv def screens today have become a lot more reasonable priced than just a few years back, and in installments are really quite the reasonable investment. Nobody is obliging you to get the mammoth-sized set, but even fairly decent-size ones come with a fair price tag these days. Durable in addition to supremely crisp in image quality, you'll be getting returns on your investment with every gasp of amazement at the new-found beauty on the screen.
3) Sports packages. This has simply changed my sports-fan existence. I hadn't imagined that a person could receive such incredibly comprehensive and quality coverage in their own home, but it's possible. The NFL Sunday Ticket has rocked my world, with up to 14 games per Sunday available, simultaneous alternative feeds, and the optional extra features for players' stats which has enabled me to launch my most successful fantasy football team to date. Furthermore, I finally have a way to get all the European soccer games that I was missing out on before (nobody plays soccer at the bar in my town!), which rounds out the deal for me. And to think that there are so many more sports being broadcast.
4) Family content. I'm not the only one at home that's keen on the satellite connection. The rest of my family, especially the rug-rats, have so much to watch that I not only can approve of, but also enjoy myself. There's so much of the classic Warner Bros. and Hanna Barbera cartoons on that it takes me back to my own childhood; Pokemon and Dragonball Z have not been discarded though, which I can deal with. Check out the family packages available, and make everyone happy!
5) PC connection. Turn surfing the web into a family experience, to be done from the sofa. Easily hook your PC up to your satellite box and use your TV screen as your monitor; you'll find a whole new way to enjoy and combine TV-viewing with your computer use.
That would be what I consider to be the most rewarding aspects of my satellite TV experience. I am enjoying it every day, and I hope you are too.
